What will ADVANCED wind turbines look like in the future?

One key trend already happening in Europe is the switch to direct-drive permanent magnet generators. The benefit is more power output over a variety of wind speeds and a longer service life due to simpler mechanics. Until now, these new style generators have traditionally been application specific and custom built for each turbine. Our EcoTork™ generators are the first modular units with the ability for a platform product to be custom built to different configurations depending on desired operating speed and power output. Unlike other generators, EcoTork™ units actually have the length, diameter, and number of poles all as customizable parameters and available for quick delivery.
